The Rajasthan Police have named three persons in its chargesheet filed in connection with the deaths of two Muslim men whose bodies were found in Haryana’s Bhiwani district in February, The Indian Express reported on Saturday.

The charred bodies of Nasir and Junaid were found in a car on February 16 after they were allegedly abducted by cow vigilantes from Bharatpur. Ismail, the brother of Junaid, had alleged that the victims were taken to a police station after they were assaulted by the cow vigilantes but the police in Haryana’s Nuh district refused to take them into custody.

The Bharatpur Police filed the chargesheet against Rinku Saini, Monu Rana alias Narendra Kumar and Gogi alias Monu on May 16 in a court in the city of Kaman. The police have invoked charges of murder, abduction, causing disappearance of evidence, rioting and criminal conspiracy against the accused persons.

Inspector General (Bharatpur Range) Gaurav Srivastava said that investigation has been kept pending against 27 others, including Bajrang Dal member Monu Manesar.

Manesar, who frequently courts controversy over the actions of his cow protection group, had posted a video on social media denying his involvement in the case. He is known for sharing videos of vigilantes chasing, confronting and nabbing alleged cow smugglers.

फिरोजाबाद। उत्तर प्रदेश के फिरोजाबाद शहर के तिलक नगर इलाके में शनिवार सुबह अस्‍पताल जा रही एक महिला को अज्ञात हमलावरों ने गोली मार दी। एक पुलिस अधिकारी ने यह जानकारी दी।

उन्होंने बताया कि महिला के परिजन उसे जिला अस्पताल ले गए, जहां चिकित्सकों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।घटनास्थल का मौका मुआयना करने के बाद पुलिस अधीक्षक नगर सर्वेश कुमार मिश्रा ने बताया तिलक नगर निवासी उमा देवी (35) बीमार थी और अपने पति के साथ पूर्वाह्न 11 बजे के आसपास अस्‍पताल जा रही थी।

मिश्रा के मुताबिक, उमा धीमी गति से चल रही थी, जिसके चलते उसका पति उससे थोड़ा आगे निकल गया। उन्होंने बताया कि तिलक नगर क्षेत्र में ही मोटरसाइकिल सवार अज्ञात बदमाशों ने उमा को सिर में गोली मार दी, जिससे वह सड़क पर गिर पड़ी।

उन्‍होंने बताया कि उमा का पति उसे लेकर जिला अस्पताल लेकर पहुंचा, जहां चिकित्सकों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।कुमार के मुताबिक, पुलिस ने घटनास्थल का मौका मुआयना कर साक्ष्य एकत्रित किए हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि इलाके में लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों के फुटेज खंगाले जा रहे हैं, ताकि हमलावरों को जल्द से जल्द गिरफ्तार किया जा सके।

कोलकाता। पश्चिम बंगाल के पूर्व मेदिनीपुर जिले के एगरा में एक अवैध पटाखा फैक्टरी विस्फोट मामले के मुख्य आरोपी भानु बाग की ओडिशा के एक निजी नर्सिंग होम में इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई। पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने शुक्रवार को यह जानकारी दी।

अधिकारी ने बताया कि विस्फोट मामले में मुख्य आरोपी भानु बाग अवैध पटाखा इकाई का मालिक था और मंगलवार को हुए विस्फोट के दौरान वह 70 प्रतिशत जल गया था, जिसके कारण उसकी इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई।उन्होंने बताया, “कटक के एक नर्सिंग होम में देर रात करीब 2.40 बजे मुख्य आरोपी की मौत हो गई। करीब 70 प्रतिशत जल जाने के कारण उसकी हालत गंभीर बनी हुई थी।”

बाग विस्फोट के तुरंत बाद पड़ोसी राज्य ओडिशा भाग गया था और कटक के एक नर्सिंग होम में इलाज करा रहा था तथा वहीं से पश्चिम बंगाल सीआईडी (अपराध अन्वेषण विभाग) ने बृहस्पतिवार तड़के उसे गिरफ्तार किया था।सीआईडी ने आरोपी को उसके बेटे और भतीजे के साथ गिरफ्तार किया था।अधिकारी ने बताया था कि मामले के मुख्य आरोपी की हालत ;;इतनी गंभीर” थी कि सीआईडी उसे पश्चिम बंगाल वापस नहीं ला सकी, लेकिन नर्सिंग होम के बाहर कड़ी निगरानी के प्रबंध किये। बाग की स्वामित्व वाली अवैध पटाखा फैक्टरी में मंगलवार अपराह्न हुए विस्फोट में नौ लोगों की मौत हो गई थी और चार अन्य घायल हो गए थे।

एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि इस मामले में मुख्य आरोपी भानु बाग अवैध पटाखा इकाई का मालिक है।सीआईडी अधिकारी ने कहा कि फैक्टरी के मालिक को ओडिशा के एक नर्सिंग होम से गिरफ्तार किया गया। मंगलवार को हुए विस्फोट में घायल होने के बाद उसका यहां इलाज हो रहा है।उन्होंने कहा कि आग की वजह से बाग 70 फीसदी जल गया है और उसकी हालत ;गंभीर है।

अधिकारी ने कहा, ;;पटाखा इकाई विस्फोट मामले में मुख्य आरोपी, उसके बेटे और भतीजे को कटक से गिरफ्तार किया गया है।अधिकारी ने कहा कि मामले के मुख्य आरोपी की हालत अब भी ;;गंभीर है और ;;अभी उसे पश्चिम बंगाल वापस लाना संभव नहीं है।जिला पुलिस ने मंगलवार को हुए विस्फोट के संबंध में एक प्राथमिकी दर्ज की है जिसमें नौ लोग मारे गए थे और कई अन्य घायल हो गए थे।सीआईडी, फॉरेंसिक विभाग और बम निरोधक दस्ते की टीम ने भी विस्फोट की जांच शुरू कर दी है।

A day after the Supreme Court told the Enforcement Directorate not to create an “atmosphere of fear”, the Congress on Wednesday asked the Narendra Modi-led Central government to pay heed to the court’s remarks.

The Supreme Court had made the remarks on Tuesday after the Congress government in Chhattisgarh alleged that the central agency was “running amok” and trying to implicate Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a money laundering case, according to The Indian Express.

The Chhattisgarh government had alleged that the Enforcement Directorate was threatening officials of the state excise department and their family members with arrest in an attempt to implicate the chief minister.

On Wednesday, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that Bharatiya Janata Party should stop wasting government resources to harass political rivals on trumped-up charges.

“ED is Enforcement Directorate, not Elimination Department to do away with political opponents,” Ramesh said.

The development comes at a time when the Opposition parties have repeatedly accused the BJP government of using central agencies in an arbitrary manner to arrest their leaders.
