आयकर रिटर्न दाखिल करना: निर्धारण वर्ष 2023-24 के लिए आयकर रिटर्न दाखिल करने की नियत तारीख के विस्तार की प्रतीक्षा करने का कोई मतलब नहीं है। आकलन वर्ष 2023-24 (वित्त वर्ष 2022-23) के लिए रिकॉर्ड संख्या में करदाताओं ने पहले ही अपना रिटर्न दाखिल कर दिया है और सरकार ने भी हाल के हफ्तों में स्पष्ट किया है कि वह उन करदाताओं के लिए नियत तारीख यानी 31 जुलाई से पहले रिटर्न दाखिल करेगी। जिनके खाते बंद हैं या ऑडिट की आवश्यकता नहीं है, उनके विस्तार पर विचार नहीं किया जा रहा है।
इनकम टैक्स रिटर्न
ऐसे में अगर आपने अभी तक आईटीआर फाइल नहीं किया है तो आपको भविष्य में टैक्स संबंधी किसी भी परेशानी से बचने के लिए जल्द से जल्द यह प्रक्रिया पूरी कर लेनी चाहिए। वहीं, करोड़ों लोगों ने अपना आयकर रिटर्न दाखिल किया है। अब तक दाखिल किए गए रिटर्न की कुल संख्या से पता चलता है कि करदाताओं को किसी भी एक्सटेंशन का इंतजार नहीं करना चाहिए।
करोड़ों आईटीआर फाइलिंग
इस साल आईटीआर दाखिल करने की आखिरी तारीख 31 जुलाई है. 31 जुलाई की तारीख खत्म होने में अभी तीन दिन बाकी हैं. इसलिए, जिन करदाताओं ने अभी तक अपना रिटर्न दाखिल नहीं किया है, उन्हें अब अपना रिटर्न दाखिल करना चाहिए। आयकर ई-फाइलिंग वेबसाइट के डेटा से पता चलता है कि अब तक करदाताओं द्वारा 5 करोड़ से अधिक आईटीआर दाखिल किए जा चुके हैं।

कर विभाग ने ट्वीट किया, ‘हम पिछले साल की तुलना में इस साल 3 दिन पहले 5 करोड़ आयकर रिटर्न (आईटीआर) के लक्ष्य तक पहुंचने में मदद करने के लिए करदाताओं और कर पेशेवरों के प्रति अपना आभार व्यक्त करते हैं। ! पिछले साल 30 जुलाई की तुलना में इस साल 27 जुलाई तक एटी 2023-24 के लिए 5 करोड़ से अधिक आईटीआर दाखिल किए गए हैं।
इनकम टैक्स रिटर्न
आयकर विभाग के अनुसार, ’27 जुलाई 2023 तक दाखिल किए गए 5.03 करोड़ आईटीआर में से लगभग 4.46 करोड़ आईटीआर ई-सत्यापित किए जा चुके हैं यानी दाखिल किए गए 88% से अधिक आईटीआर ई-सत्यापित किए जा चुके हैं’! ई-सत्यापित आईटीआर में से 2.69 करोड़ से अधिक आईटीआर पहले ही संसाधित हो चुके हैं!’

रिजर्व बैंक अपनी वेबसाइट पर महीने के हिसाब से बैंकिंग छुट्टियों की सूची अपलोड करता है और अगस्त 2023 में पड़ने वाली बैंक छुट्टियों की सूची भी जारी कर दी गई है। अलग-अलग राज्यों और शहरों में होने वाले त्योहारों और आयोजनों के अलावा अगले महीने की छुट्टियों में रविवार और दूसरे और चौथे शनिवार की छुट्टियां भी शामिल हैं। महीने की 6, 12, 13, 20, 26 और 27 तारीख को शनिवार और रविवार का साप्ताहिक अवकाश है। ऐसे में जरूरी है कि आप बैंक जाने से पहले आरबीआई की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर बैंक हॉलिडे लिस्ट चेक करने के बाद ही घर से निकलें, ऐसा न हो कि आप बैंक पहुंचें और वहां ताला लटका हुआ मिले।

Merely possessing certain literature which might be used to propagate violent actions cannot be charged as a “terrorist act” under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Supreme Court said on Friday, reported Bar and Bench.
A bench of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Sudhanshu Dhulia made the observation while granting bail to activists Vernon Gonsalves and Arun Ferreira in the Bhima Koregaon case.
The National Investigation Agency had cited letters and other materials recovered from co-accused activists Surendra Gadling and Rona Wilson to allege that Gonsalves and Ferreira had links with the banned outfit Communist Party of India (Maoist).
However, the court held that none of the materials established that the two activists indulged in activities that could amount to “overawing any public functionary by means of criminal force”.
“The copies of the letters in which the appellants or any one of them have been referred, record only third-party response or reaction of the appellants’ activities contained in communications among different individuals,” the court observed, according to Bar and Bench.

Referring to the letters specifically, the judges said that they cannot be used to implicate Gonsalves and Ferreira as their contents are of the “nature of hearsay evidence, recovered from co-accused”.

Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks or Intellectual Property India (IP India) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Examiner of Patents and Designs for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the Government of India. The Centre on Wednesday moved the Supreme Court seeking an extension of the tenure of Enforcement Directorate chief Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Bar and Bench reported.
Earlier this month, a bench of Justices BR Gavai, Vikram Nath and Sanjay Karol had directed Mishra to quit on July 31 – four months before his third extension ends in November. The court had ruled that the two extensions given to him in November 2021 and November 2022 were illegal.
On Wednesday, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta urged a bench headed by Gavai to urgently hear a plea seeking a revision of the judgement. The court agreed to take up the case at 3.30 pm on Thursday.
Mishra had first been appointed as the Enforcement Directorate director for a period of two years on November 19, 2018. In 2020, his tenure was extended for a year by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government.
In September 2021, the Supreme Court had directed the government not to extend Mishra’s tenure any further. But despite the ruling, the government introduced two ordinances to ensure that the directors of the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation could have tenures of up to five years. This enabled Mishra to continue for another year.
