इंटरनेट डेस्क। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी आज से तीन देशो की यात्रा पर जा रहे है। जहां वो तीन शिखर सम्मेलनों में शिरकत करेंगे और साथ ही अन्य देशों के अपने समकक्षों के साथ में मुलाकात करेंगे। पीए मोदी इस दौरान 40 से ज्यादा कार्यक्रमों में शिरकत करेंगे साथ ही दुनियाभर के 24 से ज्यादा नेताओं से मिलेंगे।

आपको बता दें की पहले चरण में प्रधानमंत्री 19 से 21 मई तक जी-7 देशों के शिखर सम्मेलन में भाग लेने जापान जाएंगे। उसके बाद दूसरे चरण में पीएम 21 मई को पोर्ट मोरेस्बी, पापुआ न्यू गिनी पहुंचेंगे। जहां संयुक्त रूप से भारत-प्रशांत द्वीप सहयोग फोरम के तीसरे शिखर सम्मेलन की मेजबानी करेंगे।

इसके बाद प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी तीसरे और आखिरी चरण में ऑस्ट्रेलियाई समकक्ष एंथनी अल्बनीस के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठक के लिए 22-24 मई को सिडनी में होंगे। बताया जा रहा है की मोदी ऑस्ट्रेलयाई समकक्ष के साथ सिडनी में हजारों प्रवासी भारतीयों को संबोधित करेंगे।

On a rainy morning on May 4, a group of workers reached a major crossing in Srinagar city centre.

They walked up to a sandbag bunker – one among the scores of similar structures from behind which security personnel watch the city.

Within three hours, the pile of sandbags had been covered with a structure made out of blue iron sheets, with a wire mesh in front to allow a soldier to look out.

The final touch? A billboard with the G20 logo and images of the snow-clad mountains in Gulmarg, Kashmir’s popular ski resort, was stuck in front.

The “smart bunker” was ready.

Around 30 or 40 security bunkers are being renovated at the cost of Rs 44.44 lakh, as the Jammu and Kashmir administration prepares for a meeting of G20 representatives in Srinagar on May 22.

That is not all. Srinagar’s roads are being spruced up with demarcated cycle tracks, markets are being turned into pedestrian-only and barbed wire-free zones and art students are painting murals featuring wild peacocks and rababs – the stringed instrument used in Kashmiri folk music – on walls around the city.

Former India captain Virat Kohli smashed a masterful century as his Royal Challengers Bangalore thumped Sunrisers Hyderabad – for whom South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen hit a ton of his own – by eight wickets in the IPL on Thursday.

Prathamesh Jawkar, Avneet Kaur made it a memorable day for Indian compound archers at the Shanghai 2023 Hyundai Archery World Cup stage 2 on Thursday.

Jawkar and Kaur reached their individual compound semifinal events, and will be shooting for medals at the season’s second World Cup on Saturday.

The conditions were once again tough to shoot and it meant plenty of upsets on compound eliminations day. Only Ella Gibson and Mike Schloesser were the familiar names to reach the final four.

In men’s event, 19-year-old Jawkar, who is competing at his second World Cup, defeated top seed Kim Jongho of Korea, 149-147. “I feel absolutely great,” said Jawkar according to World Archery. “In my mind, I was thinking I needed to keep my composure and stay in the present.”

In the women’s event, 18-year-old Kaur pulled off the shock of the day by overcoming Korea’s Oh Yoohyun, holding off a comeback from the top seed to win the tiebreaker.

“It’s a great moment for me to be in the semifinals,” said Kaur. “This is my best show in individual events and I want to give credit to my coaches and family.”

श्रीहर्ष ने बृहस्पतिवार को कहा कि अपनी श्रेणी में स्विगी नौ वर्ष से भी कम समय में मुनाफे की स्थिति में पहुंचने वाली कुछ वैश्विक कंपनियों में शामिल हो गई है।

ठाणे। महाराष्ट्र के ठाणे और रायगढ़ जिलों में अवैध रूप से रहने के आरोप में बांग्लादेश के 11 नागरिकों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है जिनमें चार महिलाएं शामिल हैं।
पुलिस के एक अधिकारी ने बृहस्पतिवार को बताया कि ये गिरफ्तारियां बुधवार शाम और बृहस्पतिवार तड़के की गई।

ठाणे पुलिस के एक प्रवक्ता ने पीटीआई-भाषा को बताया कि बांग्लादेश के इन नागरिकों को रायगढ़ जिले में पनवेल के पास कामोठे और ठाणे जिले के भिवंडी तालुका के नारपोली से गिरफ्तार किया गया है।उन्होंने बताया कि गुप्त सूचना पर कार्रवाई करते हुए नवी मुंबई के मानव तस्करी रोधी प्रकोष्ठ (एएचटीसी) ने कामोठे में एमजीएम अस्पताल के पीछे कुछ रिहायशी परिसरों पर छापे मारे और चार महिलाओं समेत आठ बांग्लादेशी नागरिकों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया।

प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि वे पिछले तीन महीने से वहां रह रहे थे और छोटे-मोटे काम कर रहे थे तथा उनके पास देश में आने का कोई वैध दस्तावेज़ नहीं था।उन्होंने बताया कि इसी तरह स्थानीय पुलिस ने भिवंडी के मनकोली क्षेत्र के एक इलाके में छापा मारा और बांग्लादेश के तीन व्यक्तियों को पकड़ लिया जो करीब एक साल से अलग- अलग कारखानों में काम कर रहे थे। पुलिस ने बताया कि उनके पास भी वैध दस्तावेज़ नहीं थे और उन्हें भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया।

प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि उनके खिलाफ विदेशी अधिनियम, पासपोर्ट कानून और पासपोर्ट (भारत में प्रवेश) नियमों के तहत कामोठे और नारपोली थानों में मामला दर्ज किया गया है तथा मामले की जांच की जा रही है।

Supreme Court ने पश्चिम बंगाल में ‘द केरल स्टोरी’ पर लगा प्रतिबंध हटाया

नयी दिल्ली। उच्चतम न्यायालय ने पश्चिम बंगाल में ;द केरल स्टोरी के प्रदर्शन पर प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा लगाए गए प्रतिबंध को बृहस्पतिवार को हुई सुनवाई के दौरान हटाने का आदेश दिया।

न्यायालय ने साथ ही कहा कि फिल्म को मिले प्रमाण-पत्र को चुनौती देने वाली याचिकाओं पर निर्णय के लिये कार्यवाही से पहले वह ;द केरल स्टोरी देखना चाहेगा।
पीठ फिल्म को सीबीएफसी प्रमाणपत्र दिए जाने को चुनौती देने वाली याचिकाओं पर जुलाई के दूसरे हफ्ते में सुनवाई करेगी।प्रधान न्यायाधीश डी.वाई.चंद्रचूड़ की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने कहा कि फिल्म को केंद्रीय फिल्म प्रमाणन बोर्ड (सीबीएफसी) से प्रमाण-पत्र प्राप्त है और कानून-व्यवस्था बरकरार रखना प्रदेश सरकार का दायित्व है।

पीठ ने कहा, “खराब फिल्में बॉक्स ऑफिस पर नहीं चलती हैं।”न्यायालय ने कहा, “कानून का इस्तेमाल सार्वजनिक असहिष्णुता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए नहीं किया जा सकता है, वरना सभी फिल्मों को लेकर ऐसी ही स्थिति पैदा होगी।” पीठ में न्यायमूर्ति पी.एस. नरसिम्हा और न्यायमूर्ति जे.बी. पारदीवाला भी शामिल हैं।न्यायालय ने ;द केरल स्टोरी के निर्माता से 20 मई को शाम पांच बजे तक फिल्म में 32,000 महिलाओं के इस्लाम में धर्मांतरण के आरोपों पर ;डिस्क्लेमर लगाने को कहा।

कोलकाता। पूर्वी मेदिनीपुर जिले में एक अवैध पटाखा फैक्टरी में हुए विस्फोट की जांच कर रही पश्चिम बंगाल सीआईडी (अपराध अन्वेषण विभाग) ने बृहस्पतिवार को, मुख्य आरोपी और दो अन्य लोगों को ओडिशा से गिरफ्तार किया है। इस विस्फोट में नौ लोग मारे गए थे।

एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि इस मामले में मुख्य आरोपी भानु बाग अवैध पटाखा इकाई का मालिक है।सीआईडी अधिकारी ने कहा कि फैक्टरी के मालिक को ओडिशा के एक नर्सिंग होम से गिरफ्तार किया गया। मंगलवार को हुए विस्फोट में घायल होने के बाद उसका यहां इलाज हो रहा है।उन्होंने कहा कि आग की वजह से बाग 70 फीसदी जल गया है और उसकी हालत ;गंभीर है।

अधिकारी ने कहा, ;;पटाखा इकाई विस्फोट मामले में मुख्य आरोपी, उसके बेटे और भतीजे को कटक से गिरफ्तार किया गया है।अधिकारी ने कहा कि मामले के मुख्य आरोपी की हालत अब भी ;;गंभीर है और ;;अभी उसे पश्चिम बंगाल वापस लाना संभव नहीं है।जिला पुलिस ने मंगलवार को हुए विस्फोट के संबंध में एक प्राथमिकी दर्ज की है जिसमें नौ लोग मारे गए थे और कई अन्य घायल हो गए थे।सीआईडी, फॉरेंसिक विभाग और बम निरोधक दस्ते की टीम ने भी विस्फोट की जांच शुरू कर दी है।

OSSC CGL answer key 2023 released at ossc.gov.in; Check download steps

Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has released the provisional answer key for the Combined Graduate Level Examination or CGL 2022. Candidates can download the answer key from the official website ossc.gov.in.

Applicants can raise objections, if any, against the released answer key till May 19, 2023.

“Candidates intending to raise objection(s) if any, on the said Provisional answer keys may register objection(s) using their user credentials by 19.05.2023 positively. Objections received beyond the stipulated date will not be considered.” reads the notification. The OSSC CGL 2023 exam was held on May 14 in computer-based mode.

UKPSC Junior Assistant typing test from June 1, check admit card date here

Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has issued the dates of typing test for the Junior Assistant Exam 2022. Candidates can check and download the exam notice from the official website psc.uk.gov.in.

The UKPSC Junior Assistant exam 2022 was held on March 5 and the results were announced on May 4. Shortlisted candidates whose roll numbers appear on the merit list are eligible to appear for the typing test (English/Hindi).

The UKPSC Junior Assistant typing test for Hindi and English will be held from June 1 to 13 at Haridwar. The admit card will be available for download from May 22.

Candidates are required to submit their Online Preference form between May 22 to June 16.

The UKPSC recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 445 vacancies for Junior Assistants or Kanisth Sahayak.

Amazon Web Services 2030 तक भारत में 12.7 अरब डॉलर निवेश करेगी

मुंबई। अमेजन वेब सर्विसेज (एडब्ल्यूएस) भारत में क्लाउड संबंधित बुनियादी ढांचा में 2030 तक 1,05,600 करोड़ रुपये (12.7 अरब डॉलर) निवेश करेगी।

कंपनी क्लाउड सेवाओं में ग्राहकों की बढ़ती मांग को पूरा करने के लिये यह निवेश कर रही है।अमेजन की क्लाउड कम्प्यूटिंग इकाई ने बृहस्पतिवार को एक बयान में कहा कि डेटा सेंटर बुनियादी ढांचा में निवेश से भारतीय कारोबार में सालाना औसतन 1,31,700 पूर्णकालिक नौकरियां सृजित होने की उम्मीद है।

बयान के अनुसार जो नौकरियां सृजित होंगी, उसमें निर्माण, इंजीनियरिंग, दूरसंचार और अन्य रोजगार शामिल हैं।एडब्ल्यूएस ने बयान में कहा कि उसकी भारत में क्लाउंड संबंधित बुनियादी ढांचे में 1,05,600 करोड़ रुपये निवेश की योजना है। इसके साथ 2030 तक भारत में कुल निवेश 1,36,500 (16.4 अरब डॉलर) पहुंच जाने का अनुमान है।कंपनी 2016 से 2022 के दौरान 3.7 अरब डॉलर (30,900 करोड़ रुपये) निवेश कर चुकी है।

BJP wants to destroy social harmony in Maharashtra, says Sanjay Raut on Nashik temple probe

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was trying to destroy social harmony in the state, reported The Hindu.

The Rajya Sabha MP’s remarks came after the state government on Tuesday constituted a Special Investigation Team to inquire into an alleged attempt by Muslim men to forcibly enter the Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik.

The order was issued after the temple authorities filed a police complaint alleging that on May 13, a group of Muslims attempted to offer a chadar – a ceremonial cloth printed with religious verses – to Hindu deity Shiva. Four Muslim men have also been arrested in the case.

However, Muslim community leaders have claimed that they were only following a decades-old ritual of offering frankincense at the entrance of the temple. The temple authorities have denied that any such tradition exists.

“There is a 100-year-old tradition where devotees of the Sufi saint Gulab Shah Sandal offer frankincense at the steps of the Trimbakeshwar temple during their procession and pass on,” Raut said on Wednesday, according to The Hindu. “…No one forcibly attempted to enter the temple.”

Fort Kochi was a Dutch colony for more than a century. After two major wars, the second one lasting for more than two months, the Dutch conquered the fort from the Portuguese and from the seventh day of the year 1663, they were the rulers of Fort Kochi. It remained so until 1795, when the fort was surrendered to the British. With each wave of colonisation, the culinary landscape of this city was modified in varying degrees. The cuisine of the coloniser and the colonised intermingled, often creating culinary wonders which were an interesting synthesis of distinct cooking styles and elements. Compared to the European colonists who came before and after them, the Dutch influence on Kerala cuisine is not so conspicuous. While discovering the culinary treasures in the southern tip of India, they subtly modified the cuisine of the area and seasoned many dishes with an ounce of Dutchness. The online application deadline for recruitment to Division/ District Cadre posts belonging to the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Jal Shakti Department at the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has been extended. Kiren Rijiju removed as law minister, assigned earth sciences portfolio

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kiren Rijiju was on Thursday removed as the Union Minister of Law and Justice, a statement by the Rashtrapati Bhavan said.

Arjun Ram Meghwal has been assigned independent charge as the minister of state for law and justice in addition to his existing portfolios. Rijiju will take charge of the ministry of earth sciences.

It is not clear why Rijiju has been removed from the law ministry. However, the move comes days after his prolonged tussle with the judiciary.

Over the last few months, Rijiju and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar have repeatedly criticised the collegium system of appointing judges, contending that it is opaque. In the collegium system, the senior judges of the Supreme Court recommend names for the Supreme Court and High Courts and the government is expected to follow them.

Rijiju also said in December that the Centre had introduced the National Judicial Appointments Commission Act in 2014 with an objective to make appointments to the Supreme Court and High Courts “more broad-based, transparent, accountable and bringing objectivity in the system”.

इंटरनेट डेस्क। राजस्थान केजैसलमेर जिलेकलेक्टर टीना डाबी एक बार फिर सुर्खियां में है, पलहे निकाह, फिर तलाक, फिर शादी और अब एक और नया काम उनको सुर्खियों में ले आया है। जानकारी के अनुसार राजस्थान केजैसलमेर में जिला कलेक्टर टीना डाबी के आदेश के बाद अमर सागर पंचायत की कई बीघा जमीन पर रह रहे पाक विस्थापित हिंदुओं के आशियाने पर बुलडोजर चला दिया गया है।

इसके बाद से ही टीना डाबी की आलोचना हो रही है। उनके आदेश के बाद जैसलमेर में घरों को ढहा दिया गया है। खबरों की माने तो बच्चों समेत 150 से ज्यादा लोग बेघर हो गए हैं। अब वे सब खुले आसमान के नीचे तपती धूप में रहने को मजबूर हैं। इससे पहले जोधपुर में भी विस्थापितों के आशियाने पर बुलडोजर चला था।

जानकारी के अनुसार जैसलमेर के नगर विकास न्यास ने अमर सागर पंचायत की जमीन से अतिक्रमण हटाने की कार्रवाई की है। इस मामले में प्रशासन का कहना है कि ये विस्थापित परिवार अमर सागर तालाब के किनारे अवैध मकान बनाकर रह रहे हैं। इस कारण तालाब के पानी की आवक रुक गई। साथ ही यह भूमि काफी कीमती भी बताई जा रही है।

इंटरनेट डेस्क। देश के प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी तीन देशों की यात्रा पर जा रहे है, इस दौरान वो कई देशों के समकक्षों से मिलेंगे। साथ ही वह जापान में जी-7 शिखर सम्मेलन और ऑस्ट्रेलिया में क्वाड नेताओं के शिखर सम्मेलन में हिस्सा लेंगे।

मीडिया रिपोर्ट की माने तो जापान की अध्यक्षता में आयोतिज होने वाले जी-7 शिखर सम्मेलन के लिए प्रधानमंत्री मोदी 19 से 21 मई तक जापान के हिरोशिमा जाएंगे। शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान प्रधान मंत्री जी-7 सत्रों को भी संबोधित करेंगे। बताया जा रहा है की प्रधानमंत्री शिखर सम्मेलन से अलग प्रतिभागी नेताओं के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठकें भी करेंगे।

मीडिया रिपोर्ट की माने तो जापान से प्रधानमंत्री पापुआ न्यू गिनी के पोर्ट मोरेस्बी जाएंगे। पापुआ न्यू गिनी की किसी भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री की यह पहली यात्रा होगी। इसके बाद प्रधानमंत्री मोदी, जापानी प्रधानमंत्री और ऑस्ट्रेलियाई प्रधानमंत्री एंथनी अल्बनीज के साथ क्वाड नेताओं के शिखर सम्मेलन में भाग लेने के लिए 22 से 24 मई तक सिडनी में रहेंगे।

इंटरेनट डेस्क। कर्नाटक में पिछले चार दिनों से कांग्रेस में सीएम पद को लेकर चल रही खींचतान आखिरकार देर रात को समाप्त हो गई। कई बैठकों और समझाईश के बाद तय हो गया की सिद्धारमैया की कर्नाटक के सीएम होंगे। साथ ही डीके शिवकुमार डिप्टी सीएम होंगे। दोनों मिलकर अब प्रदेश को चलाएंगे।

मीडिया रिपोटर्स की माने तो कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे से लंबी चर्चा के बाद कर्नाटक में सरकार के गठन के लिए आम सहमति बनी। शपथ ग्रहण समारोह शनिवार यानी 20 मई को बेंगलुरु में आयोजित किया जाएगा। सिद्धारमैया के नाम पर औपचारिक मुहर लगाने के लिए आज शाम सात बजे कांग्रेस विधायक दल की बैठक बुलाई गई है।

इसके बाद कांग्रेस नेता राज्यपाल से मिलकर सरकार बनाने का दावा पेश करेंगे। इससे पहले सिद्धारमैया और शिवकुमार ने कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी के साथ दिल्ली में अलग-अलग मुलाकात की। कर्नाटक की 224 विधानसभा सीटों में से कांग्रेस ने 135 सीटों पर जीत हासिल की है। वहीं बीजेपी को 66 सीटे मिली है तो जेडीएस 19 सीटों पर सिमट गई है।

इंटरेनट डेस्क। देशभर के कई राज्यों में मौसम बदला हुआ है और उसके कारण कई जगहों पर गर्मी के साथ साथ हीट वेव भी चल रही है। लेकिन उसके साथ ही कई राज्यों में पश्चिमी विक्षोभ भी सक्रिय हो चुका है। इसके चलते कई राज्यों में बारिश और आंधी का असर देखने को मिल रहा है।

पश्चिमी विक्षोभ का असर राजस्थान में भी देखने को मिल रहा है, राजस्थान के कई जिलों में पिछले दो दिनों से बारिश और आंधी का दौर जारी है। देर रात को जयपुर के सांगानेर इलाके में भी तेज हवाओं के साथ बारिश का दौर देखा गया। बारिश और आंधी के कारण तापमान में गिरावट देखने को मिली है।

वहीं राजस्थान के कई इलाकों में तापमान इस समय 40 डिग्री के पार है, लेकिन आंधी और बारिश के कारण लोगों को हीट वेव से राहत है। लोगों को इस गर्मी के मौसम में लू के थपड़ों से बचने से राहत है। मौसम विभाग की माने तो अभी एक दो दिन मौसम ऐसा ही बना रह सकता है।

61 Muslims won Uttar Pradesh urban polls on BJP tickets. What does this mean?

Last week, Kausar Abbas was elected chairperson of the Nagar Panchayat of Sirsi, a small town of around 30,000 people in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district.

Abbas was one of the nearly 15,000 people to have won the state’s urban body elections held earlier this month. Yet, his name features in several news reports detailing the results.

The reason for his prominence: he is one of the 61 Muslim candidates to have won on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket, and one of the five to have secured the position of chairperson.

The results have made the BJP, which has come to power promoting Hindu supremacism, proclaim that it now has the support of a large section of the state’s Muslims.

Abbas, though, seemed to be less enthusiastic about his ties with the BJP. During a phone interview with Scroll, he said he had “formally” joined the saffron party only very recently – the day he filed his nomination papers to contest the election.

He said he used to be in the Samajwadi Party till about seven years ago, but in recent years had “started doing social work”.

IPL 2023: Livingstone’s 94 in vain as Delhi Capitals push Punjab Kings to the brink of elimination

Delhi Capitals survived a blazing 94 by Liam Livingstone for a consolation 15-run win on Wednesday to push Punjab Kings to the brink of IPL elimination on Wednesday.

South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw smashed an unbeaten 82 to guide Punjab to 213-2, a total that was threatened by Livingstone’s 48-ball blitz in the Himalayan hill town of Dharamsala.

Livingstone and Atharva Taide put on a 78-run stand. After Taide retired out on 55, the rest of the batting fell flat.

Delhi, who were already out of the play-off-race, kept the opposition to 198-8 despite Livingstone’s nine sixes and sloppy fielding, including two dropped catches.

“It was a bad performance in the field but we will take the win,” Delhi skipper David Warner said.

“It was frustrating,” Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan said. “We didn’t bowl really well in the first six wickets, we should have taken some wickets the way it was swinging.”

Warner (46) and Prithvi Shaw (54) put on 94 runs for the opening wicket to lay the foundation for Delhi’s mammoth total.

The left-handed Warner set the pace with his attacking 31-ball knock as he hit former Delhi pace bowler Kagiso Rabada for two sixes.

Archery World Cup: Simranjeet Kaur impresses in recurve qualification, compound teams eliminated

Simranjeet Kaur earned a spot in the top eight in a strong field of recurve qualifications at theShanghai 2023 Hyundai Archery World Cup stage 2 on Wednesday.

Dhiraj Bommadevara, who won bronze in the first World Cup of the season, was the top male Indian archer with a score of 656 to finish 13th.

It was a very low-scoring qualification round overall due to torrential rains on the day.

Korean superstars are competing in Shanghai and they dominated the women’s recurve section as they usually do, with three archers in top four. Korea’s Kang Chae Young and USA’s Brady Ellison took the top individual seeds in the women’s and men’s events.

“The archers battled constant rainfall in a three-hour qualifying session that some would rather forget,” according to World Archery.

Olympic champion Mete Gazoz, for instance, qualified as low as 25th and said, “It was a very bad day for me. I couldn’t understand the conditions – rainy and windy.”

Day after SC asks ED not to ‘create atmosphere of fear’, Congress says Centre should pay heed

A day after the Supreme Court told the Enforcement Directorate not to create an “atmosphere of fear”, the Congress on Wednesday asked the Narendra Modi-led Central government to pay heed to the court’s remarks.

The Supreme Court had made the remarks on Tuesday after the Congress government in Chhattisgarh alleged that the central agency was “running amok” and trying to implicate Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a money laundering case, according to The Indian Express.

The Chhattisgarh government had alleged that the Enforcement Directorate was threatening officials of the state excise department and their family members with arrest in an attempt to implicate the chief minister.

On Wednesday, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that Bharatiya Janata Party should stop wasting government resources to harass political rivals on trumped-up charges.

“ED is Enforcement Directorate, not Elimination Department to do away with political opponents,” Ramesh said.

The development comes at a time when the Opposition parties have repeatedly accused the BJP government of using central agencies in an arbitrary manner to arrest their leaders.
