Interview: ‘Biren Singh pushed rash policies in Manipur, added to Kuki resentment’

Kuki, Naga, Meitei. Hills and valley. Inner line divide. The ethnic violence that broke out in Manipur around May 3 and claimed at least 73 lives has a long history. The tipping point was a push by the dominant Metei community for Scheduled Tribe status that was fiercely opposed by the state’s other tribal groups.

Since British times, Manipur has been shaped by policy and law that have sought to divide the state and its people – a legacy taken forward by the Union as well as state governments.

Veteran journalist Pradip Phanjoubam told Scroll that Chief Minister N Biren Singh, since his return to power in March last year after the state assembly elections with a majority government, has pushed rash policies, without consultation.

“He got arrogant,” said Phanjoubam, editor of the Imphal Review of Arts and Politics, told Scroll over the phone from Imphal. “He started pushing things around, not listening to anybody else because he knew his position was safe.”

How Singh tackled issues such as the drive against poppy cultivation and the proposed National Register of Citizens may have given members of the Kuki community the impression that they were being singled out.

Bhiwani murders: Rajasthan Police file chargesheet against three men

The Rajasthan Police have named three persons in its chargesheet filed in connection with the deaths of two Muslim men whose bodies were found in Haryana’s Bhiwani district in February, The Indian Express reported on Saturday.

The charred bodies of Nasir and Junaid were found in a car on February 16 after they were allegedly abducted by cow vigilantes from Bharatpur. Ismail, the brother of Junaid, had alleged that the victims were taken to a police station after they were assaulted by the cow vigilantes but the police in Haryana’s Nuh district refused to take them into custody.

The Bharatpur Police filed the chargesheet against Rinku Saini, Monu Rana alias Narendra Kumar and Gogi alias Monu on May 16 in a court in the city of Kaman. The police have invoked charges of murder, abduction, causing disappearance of evidence, rioting and criminal conspiracy against the accused persons.

Inspector General (Bharatpur Range) Gaurav Srivastava said that investigation has been kept pending against 27 others, including Bajrang Dal member Monu Manesar.

Manesar, who frequently courts controversy over the actions of his cow protection group, had posted a video on social media denying his involvement in the case. He is known for sharing videos of vigilantes chasing, confronting and nabbing alleged cow smugglers.

Delhi ordinance: Opposition accuses BJP of ‘bulldozing’ Constitution, AAP to move Supreme Court

Opposition leaders on Saturday accused the Modi government of “bulldozing the Constitutional federal framework” after it brought an ordinance that gives the Centre-appointed lieutenant governor the final say on the postings and transfers of all bureaucrats serving the Delhi government.

The ordinance, promulgated by President Droupadi Murmu, effectively negates the May 11 Supreme Court verdict stating that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has legislative power over bureaucrats excluding the departments of public order, police and land.

At a press conference, Kejriwal said that the ordinance was unconstitutional and a “direct challenge” to the Supreme Court.

“We will approach the Supreme Court against it,” he added. “The Centre introduced the ordinance on services matter just hours after the apex court has shut for vacation…I will also go to people, door to door, in Delhi and AAP will also take to the streets against the ordinance because it snatches powers of Delhi people.”

When 22-year-old Touqeer Ashraf arrived in Srinagar for his education, he was struck by the way people spoke.

“Not only young people, I saw even the elderly talking to the young in Urdu,” said Ashraf, a postgraduate student of geology at the University of Kashmir.

In his native village of Goosu Pulwama, in Pulwama district, the medium of conversation was Kashmiri. “But in the city, I saw people who speak in the language being derisively called ‘gaamik’ [rustic],” said Ashraf, who has been living in Srinagar since last year.

This lack of respect for his native language bothered Ashraf.

To draw more people to the language, Ashraf turned to the pioneers of Kashmiri literature. In early 2021, he started a YouTube channel Keashur Praw, the shimmering light of Kashmiri, which posts short videos of Kashmiri poetry. They are slickly shot, usually not longer than 30 seconds, overlaid with Ashraf’s voice and some background music.

Ashraf started with the poetry of Kashmir’s 14th century Sufi mystic, Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani. Then, the works of other stalwarts of Kashmiri literature and mysticism like Mahmood Gami, Rasul Mir, Lal Ded and Mehjoor followed.

TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee appears before CBI in teacher recruitment scam

Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation at its Kolkata office on Saturday morning in a case pertaining to alleged irregularities in the recruitment of primary teachers in West Bengal, reported PTI.

Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay of the High Court had directed on April 13 the two central agencies to question Banerjee in the case. The order was challenged by the Trinamool Congress MP in the Supreme Court who said that the judge had expressed his dislike for him in an interview with ABP Ananda news channel.

On April 17, the Supreme Court had stayed the order. On April 28, it ordered the High Court Chief Justice to reassign the case from Justice Gangopadhyay’s bench to some other bench. However, on Thursday, the High Court allowed the two agencies to question Banerjee.

The case pertains to jobs being allegedly given to candidates in return for money instead of candidates who had qualified in the recruitment process in 2019. A dozen officials of the state education department, including former minister Partha Chatterjee, have been arrested in the case.

While the Central Bureau of Investigation is probing the criminal aspect of the scam, the Enforcement Directorate is looking into the money-trail involved in the alleged irregularities in the recruitment in schools.

फिरोजाबाद। उत्तर प्रदेश के फिरोजाबाद शहर के तिलक नगर इलाके में शनिवार सुबह अस्‍पताल जा रही एक महिला को अज्ञात हमलावरों ने गोली मार दी। एक पुलिस अधिकारी ने यह जानकारी दी।

उन्होंने बताया कि महिला के परिजन उसे जिला अस्पताल ले गए, जहां चिकित्सकों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।घटनास्थल का मौका मुआयना करने के बाद पुलिस अधीक्षक नगर सर्वेश कुमार मिश्रा ने बताया तिलक नगर निवासी उमा देवी (35) बीमार थी और अपने पति के साथ पूर्वाह्न 11 बजे के आसपास अस्‍पताल जा रही थी।

मिश्रा के मुताबिक, उमा धीमी गति से चल रही थी, जिसके चलते उसका पति उससे थोड़ा आगे निकल गया। उन्होंने बताया कि तिलक नगर क्षेत्र में ही मोटरसाइकिल सवार अज्ञात बदमाशों ने उमा को सिर में गोली मार दी, जिससे वह सड़क पर गिर पड़ी।

उन्‍होंने बताया कि उमा का पति उसे लेकर जिला अस्पताल लेकर पहुंचा, जहां चिकित्सकों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।कुमार के मुताबिक, पुलिस ने घटनास्थल का मौका मुआयना कर साक्ष्य एकत्रित किए हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि इलाके में लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों के फुटेज खंगाले जा रहे हैं, ताकि हमलावरों को जल्द से जल्द गिरफ्तार किया जा सके।

CBI ने 1984 के सिख विरोधी दंगों के मामले में टाइटलर के खिलाफ आरोप पत्र दाखिल किया

नयी दिल्ली। केंद्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) ने 1984 के सिख विरोधी दंगों से जुड़े पुल बंगश मामले में कांग्रेस नेता जगदीश टाइटलर के खिलाफ शनिवार को आरोप पत्र दाखिल किया। अधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी दी।

यह मामला तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी की हत्या के एक दिन बाद एक नवंबर, 1984 को पुल बंगश इलाके में एक गुरुद्वारे में आग लगाए जाने और तीन लोगों की हत्या कि ये जाने से जुड़ा है।सीबीआई ने यहां एक विशेष अदालत के समक्ष दाखिल अपने आरोप पत्र में कहा है कि टाइटलर ने एक नवंबर 1984 को ;;पुल बंगश गुरुद्वारा आजाद मार्केट में एकत्र भीड़ को उकसाया और भड़काया, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप गुरुद्वारे को जला दिया गया और तीन सिखों ठाकुर सिंह, बादल सिंह और गुरु चरण सिंह की हत्या कर दी गई।

अधिकारियों ने बताया कि एजेंसी ने टाइटलर के खिलाफ भारतीय दंड संहिता (आईपीसी) की धाराओं 147 (दंगा), 109 (उकसाने) और 302 (हत्या) के तहत आरोप लगाए हैं।उन्होंने कहा कि अदालत दो जून को आरोपों पर विचार करेगी।

पब्लिक प्रॉविडेंट फंड (PPF Investment Plan) स्मॉल सेविंग्स स्कीम का सबसे लोकप्रिय निवेश प्लान माना जाता है। पब्लिक प्रोविडेंट फंड यानी पीपीएफ स्कीम निवेश के लिए एक बेहतरीन विकल्प है, जो कई तरह के फायदे देती है।

इसमें आपको शानदार ब्याज के साथ-साथ टैक्स छूट का भी लाभ मिलता है। इसमें पैसा लगाने पर डूबने का खतरा नहीं रहता और रिटर्न की गारंटी रहती है। पीपीएफ योजना में निवेश के लिए कोई भी खाताधारक नजदीकी डाकघर में खाता खोलकर न्यूनतम 1000 रुपये और अधिकतम 1.5 लाख रुपये निवेश कर सकता है।

पीपीएफ खाता 15 साल में परिपक्व होता है और वर्तमान में निवेशकों को 7.1 फीसदी की दर से ब्याज दिया जा रहा है (पीपीएफ ब्याज दरें 7.1), लेकिन अगर निवेशक को बीच में पैसे की जरूरत है तो वह आंशिक निकासी नियम के तहत 40 फीसदी की निकासी कर सकता है। राशि निकाल सकते हैं। इसमें निवेश की गई रकम पर 80सी के तहत टैक्स छूट का लाभ मिलता है।

इस योजना के निवेश को ईईई श्रेणी में रखा गया है। इसका मतलब है कि आपका निवेश, ब्याज और मेच्योरिटी राशि तीनों ही पूरी तरह से टैक्स फ्री है।

पीपीएफ खाते में अगर सही योजना से निवेश किया जाए तो निवेशक करोड़पति बन सकता है। आइए गणना को समझते हैं।

अगर आप हर महीने 9000 रुपये निवेश करते हैं तो आपके लिए यह 300 रुपये प्रतिदिन है। पीपीएफ कैलकुलेटर से पता चलता है कि पीपीएफ खाते में 9000 रुपये का मासिक निवेश मौजूदा 7.1% ब्याज दर पर 15 साल में बढ़कर 29.2 लाख रुपये हो सकता है।
7.1% ब्याज दर पर 20 वर्षों में 9000 रुपये प्रति माह के निवेश से कुल परिपक्वता राशि 47.9 करोड़ रुपये हो जाती है और 25 वर्षों के लिए निवेश पर यह राशि 74.2 करोड़ रुपये हो जाती है। वहीं, अगर आप 30 साल तक हर महीने 9000 रुपये का निवेश जारी रखते हैं तो मैच्योरिटी राशि 1.11 करोड़ रुपये हो सकती है।
इसी तरह, 9,000 रुपये प्रति माह के योगदान वाले पीपीएफ खाते में, 7.1% की ब्याज दर के साथ, परिपक्वता राशि 35 वर्षों में 1.63 करोड़ रुपये और 40 वर्षों में 2.36 करोड़ रुपये हो जाती है। इसका मतलब यह है कि अगर कोई निवेशक 20 साल की उम्र से पीपीएफ योजना में निवेश करना शुरू करता है तो 60 साल की उम्र में सेवानिवृत्ति के समय उसके खाते में 2.36 करोड़ रुपये होंगे।

स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने स्पेशल फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट स्कीम अमृत कलश में एनआरआई (एनआरआई इनवेस्ट इन एसबीआई अमृत कलश) के लिए भी निवेश का मौका खोला है। बैंक ने एनआरआई निवेशकों के लिए इस खास एफडी योजना पर ब्याज दर भी बढ़ा दी है और निवेश की समय सीमा भी बढ़ा दी है। एसबीआई की अमृत कलश एफडी योजना में पैसा लगाकर घरेलू और एनआईआई निवेशक भी मुनाफा कमा सकते हैं।

देश के सबसे बड़े सरकारी बैंक स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने सबसे लोकप्रिय विशेष अमृत कलश जमा योजना (एसबीआई अमृत कलश जमा योजना) में निवेश की समय सीमा 30 जून 2023 तक बढ़ा दी है। इस एफडी योजना में निवेशक 2 करोड़ रुपये से कम का निवेश कर सकते हैं 400 दिनों का कार्यकाल।

एसबीआई अमृत कलश जमा पर ब्याज दर

एसबीआई की अमृत कलश स्पेशल डिपॉजिट स्कीम पहले 15 फरवरी, 2023 से 31 मार्च, 2023 तक निवेश के लिए उपलब्ध थी। एसबीआई की वेबसाइट के मुताबिक, आम नागरिकों के लिए 400 दिन की स्पेशल एफडी स्कीम अमृत कलश पर ब्याज दर बढ़ाकर 7.10 फीसदी कर दी गई है। एनआरआई निवेशक। वहीं, वरिष्ठ नागरिक अगर इसमें निवेश करते हैं तो उन्हें 7.60 फीसदी ब्याज दर दिया जाएगा.

एसबीआई घरेलू एफडी ब्याज दरें

भारतीय स्टेट बैंक नियमित नागरिकों को 7 दिनों से 10 वर्षों के बीच की अवधि के लिए 3% से 7% के बीच ब्याज दर प्रदान करता है। वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए एसबीआई वी-केयर डिपॉजिट स्कीम के तहत दी जाने वाली ब्याज दर 50 बीपीएस के अतिरिक्त प्रीमियम के साथ 3.5% से 7.50% तक है।

निवेशकों को ब्याज के भुगतान का तरीका

SBI अमृत कलश के निवेशकों को मासिक, त्रैमासिक और अर्धवार्षिक अंतराल पर ब्याज का भुगतान किया जाता है। एसबीआई अमृत कलश की परिपक्वता पर, टीडीएस काटने के बाद ब्याज राशि ग्राहक के खाते में जोड़ दी जाएगी। अमृत कलश जमा में समय से पहले और कर्ज की सुविधा भी शामिल है।

7th Pay Commission: सरकार का बड़ा ऐलान, लाखों कर्मचारियों की बढ़ी सैलरी

7वां वेतन आयोग: तमिलनाडु सरकार ने बड़ा ऐलान करते हुए 7वें वेतन आयोग के तहत सरकारी कर्मचारियों के साथ-साथ शिक्षकों, पेंशनभोगियों और पारिवारिक पेंशन के लिए महंगाई भत्ते (डीए) की दर में 4 फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी की है.

38 प्रतिशत से लेकर 42 प्रतिशत तक की नई डीए बढ़ोतरी 1 अप्रैल, 2023 से लागू होगी। इस फैसले का लाभ तमिलनाडु सरकार के 16 लाख कर्मचारियों, शिक्षकों और पेंशनभोगियों को मिलेगा।

2,366.82 करोड़ खर्च बढ़ेगा

डीए में इस बढ़ोतरी से राज्य के खजाने पर अतिरिक्त 2,366.82 करोड़ रुपये का बोझ पड़ेगा। सरकार ने एक आधिकारिक विज्ञप्ति में कहा, “सरकारी कर्मचारियों और शिक्षकों के लगातार अनुरोधों पर विचार करते हुए, मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन ने 1 अप्रैल से बढ़ोतरी को लागू करने का आदेश दिया है।”

इससे पहले यूपी सरकार ने तोहफा दिया था

इससे पहले उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने भी 1 जनवरी 2023 से अपने कर्मचारियों के लिए महंगाई भत्ता और अपने पेंशनभोगियों को महंगाई राहत (DR) में 4 फीसदी की बढ़ोतरी की थी. यह फैसला यूपी के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने मंगलवार 16 मई को लिया. डीए और डीआर बढ़ोतरी से राज्य के 16.35 लाख कर्मचारियों और 11 लाख पेंशनरों को फायदा होगा।

इसी साल अप्रैल में बिहार सरकार ने भी ऐलान किया था कि वह कर्मचारियों और पेंशनभोगियों का डीए 4 फीसदी बढ़ाएगी. महंगाई भत्ता (डीए) एक लागत-जीवन-निर्वाह समायोजन भत्ता है, जो सरकार द्वारा सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के कर्मचारियों के साथ-साथ उसी के पेंशनभोगियों को दिया जाता है। यह महंगाई राहत (DR) भत्ता के समान है, जो केंद्र सरकार के पेंशनभोगियों को दिया जाता है।

महंगाई भत्ता कब बदलता है?

केंद्रीय स्तर पर सरकार आमतौर पर हर छह महीने में डीए का भुगतान करती है। महंगाई राहत की दर में संशोधन करता है। जबकि राज्य सरकारें आमतौर पर जनवरी और जुलाई में डीए और डीआर में द्वि-वार्षिक बढ़ोतरी की घोषणा करती हैं।

इधर मई के महीने की शुरूआत में मौसम का यही हाल रहा है। वहीं अब 22 मई से फिर प्री मानसून एक्टिविटी शुरू हो जाएगी जिसके कारण फिर से राजस्थान में मौसम बदलेगा और बारिश के साथ साथ आंधी भी देखने को मिलेगी। इस सिस्टम का असर 2-3 दिन तक रह सकता है और तापमान में भी गिरावट आएगी।

हालांकि 20 और 21 मई को राज्य का मौसम शुष्क बना रहेगा और तापमान में भी बढ़ोतरी होगी। वहीं कुछ जगहों पर लू चलने की भी संभावना जताई गई है। लेकिन उसके बाद 22 से फिर राज्य में मौसम बदलेगा और बारिश के साथ आंधी भी चलेगी, लेकिन लोगों को गर्मी से राहत मिलेगी।

इंटरेनट डेस्क। देश में एक बार फिर से लोगों को नोटबंदी देखने को मिलेगी। हालांकि इस बार प्रधानमंत्री ने टीवी पर आकर इसकी घोषणा नहीं की है। इस बार आरबीआई ने सीधे सीधे कह दिया की देश में 2000 रुपये के नोटों को प्रचलन से बाहर किया जा रहा है। अगर आपके पास भी है तो आप 30 सितंबर तक बैंक में जमा करवा सकते है। बदलवा सकते है।

जानकारी के अनुसार भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने लोगों को 30 सिंतबर तक यह नोट बदलवाने की सलाह दी है। बैंक में एक बार में आप 2000 के 20 नोट जमा करा सकेंगे और उनके बदले आपको छोटे नोट दे दिए जाएंगे। सभी बैंकों में 2000 रुपये के नोट बदलने की सुविधा मिलेगी।

वहीं आरबीआई ने सभी बैंकों को आदेश भी दे दिया है की अब से कोई भी दो हजार को नोट जारी नहीं करेगा। केंद्रीय बैंक की और से कहा गया है कि वह 2,000 रुपये के नोट प्रचलन से हटा रहे है और लोग यह नोट 30 सितंबर तक बदल सकते हैं।

What will the worker, workplace and work itself look like in the future?

Avik Chanda and Siddhartha Bandhopadhyay’s new book Work 3.0 tackles this and some of the other most pressing and complex questions about modern-day “work”. The authors employ rigorous research supplemented with industry reports, business case studies, expert interviews, anecdotes, their personal expertise and insights, to present a rich multi-disciplinary brew that spans economics, statistics, public policy, history, sociology, psychology, law, political science, literature and philosophy.

At the launch of the book, Chanda spoke to writer Krishnan Srinivasan and academician Tirthankar Roy about co-writing the book, whether AI and automation will render more young people unemployed, the necessity of “emotional enablement” in workers, and more. Excerpts from the conversation:

Tirthankar Roy (TR): Let me start with a teacher-like question. What are the salient features of your book and what is in it, that is new or different?
What we’ve attempted to do in Work 3.0 is to look at the problems through multiple prisms, instead of effecting a deep laser-focus along only one dimension. To explain, we felt that to be truly fruitful, the examination of each key problem would need to be across the dimensions of work, worker, and the workplace not any one of these in isolation….

The nail-biting four-wicket win in Dharamsala gave Rajasthan a glimmer of hope of qualifying for the knockout phase of the competition although their fate depends on other matches this weekend.

Had India decided to adopt China’s “wolf warrior diplomacy” tactics?

That’s what some observers began to wonder earlier this month, after Indian foreign minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar described his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a “spokesperson of a terrorism industry”.

To some observers, the aggressive words used by Jaishankar to describe a fellow participant at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation foreign ministers’ meeting in Goa on May 5 – of which India was the host – seemed unnecessarily arrogant. But it was not unusual: Indian diplomats are increasingly using similar rhetoric.

However, many others – especially the Bharatiya Janata Party’s supporters at home in India – have expressed admiration at the purported displays of confidence by Jaishankar and other Indian diplomats. It seems to reflect the combative style used by Beijing’s diplomats in recent years, a style that gets its name from a 2015 Chinese political thriller with a tagline that declared, “Whoever attacks China will be killed no matter how far the target is.”

Experts suggest that usage of this diplomatic language reflects two dynamics. Some of it is aimed at firing up the BJP’s supporters at home. But it is also the product of the shift in Indian foreign policy.

नयी दिल्ली। अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर सोने की कीमतों में गिरावट के बीच राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के सर्राफा बाजार में शुक्रवार को सोने का भाव 105 रुपये की गिरावट के साथ 60,045 रुपये प्रति 10 ग्राम रह गया। एचडीएफसी सिक्योरिटीज ने यह जानकारी दी।

पिछले कारोबारी सत्र में सोना 60,150 रुपये प्रति 10 ग्राम के भाव पर बंद हुआ था।हालांकि, चांदी की कीमत भी 255 रुपये बढ़कर 73,500 रुपये प्रति किलोग्राम हो गई।एचडीएफसी सिक्योरिटीज के वरिष्ठ विश्लेषक (जिंस) सौमिल गांधी ने कहा, ;;दिल्ली सर्राफा बाजार में सोने की हाजिर कीमत 105 रुपये की गिरावट के साथ 60,045 रुपये प्रति 10 ग्राम रह गयी।

विदेशी बाजारों में सोना गिरावट के साथ 1,967 डॉलर प्रति औंस रह गया जबकि चांदी तेजी के साथ 23.88 डॉलर प्रति औंस हो गया।शुक्रवार को एशियाई कारोबार में सोने की कीमत में गिरावट दर्ज की गई।

West Bengal : एगरा अवैध पटाखा फैक्टरी विस्फोट मामले के मुख्य आरोपी की मौत

कोलकाता। पश्चिम बंगाल के पूर्व मेदिनीपुर जिले के एगरा में एक अवैध पटाखा फैक्टरी विस्फोट मामले के मुख्य आरोपी भानु बाग की ओडिशा के एक निजी नर्सिंग होम में इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई। पुलिस के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने शुक्रवार को यह जानकारी दी।

अधिकारी ने बताया कि विस्फोट मामले में मुख्य आरोपी भानु बाग अवैध पटाखा इकाई का मालिक था और मंगलवार को हुए विस्फोट के दौरान वह 70 प्रतिशत जल गया था, जिसके कारण उसकी इलाज के दौरान मौत हो गई।उन्होंने बताया, “कटक के एक नर्सिंग होम में देर रात करीब 2.40 बजे मुख्य आरोपी की मौत हो गई। करीब 70 प्रतिशत जल जाने के कारण उसकी हालत गंभीर बनी हुई थी।”

बाग विस्फोट के तुरंत बाद पड़ोसी राज्य ओडिशा भाग गया था और कटक के एक नर्सिंग होम में इलाज करा रहा था तथा वहीं से पश्चिम बंगाल सीआईडी (अपराध अन्वेषण विभाग) ने बृहस्पतिवार तड़के उसे गिरफ्तार किया था।सीआईडी ने आरोपी को उसके बेटे और भतीजे के साथ गिरफ्तार किया था।अधिकारी ने बताया था कि मामले के मुख्य आरोपी की हालत ;;इतनी गंभीर” थी कि सीआईडी उसे पश्चिम बंगाल वापस नहीं ला सकी, लेकिन नर्सिंग होम के बाहर कड़ी निगरानी के प्रबंध किये। बाग की स्वामित्व वाली अवैध पटाखा फैक्टरी में मंगलवार अपराह्न हुए विस्फोट में नौ लोगों की मौत हो गई थी और चार अन्य घायल हो गए थे।

इंटरनेट डेस्क। राजस्थान में विधानसभा चुनावों में अभी 6 महीने का समय है लेकिन नेताओं की अदला बदली का खेल शुरू हो चुका है। कांग्रेस के नेता भाजपा में तो भाजपा के नेता कांग्रेस ज्वाइन करने की होड़ में दिखेंगे। इसका पहला नजारा जल्द ही सामने आने वाला भी है। वैसे प्रदेश कांग्रेस में इस समय कई गुटों में बंटी हुई है और सचिन पायलट का गुट तो अशोक गहलोत के खिलाफ बगावती रूख अपनाए हुए है।

कांग्रेस आलाकमान इस संकट का समाधान करने में लगी है लेकिन उससे पहले ही पार्टी को बड़ा झटका लगा है। जानकारी के अनुसार पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री सुभाष महरिया कांग्रेस का दामन छोड़ बीजेपी में शामिल होने जा रहे हैं। महरिया शुक्रवार सुबह 10ः15 बजे बीजेपी मुख्यालय में वरिष्ठ नेताओं की मौजूदगी में एक बार फिर बीजेपी की सदस्यता ग्रहण करेंगे।

जानकारी के अनुसार इस दौरान बीजेपी प्रदेश अध्यक्ष सीपी जोशी, नेता प्रतिपक्ष राजेंद्र राठौड़ के साथ बड़ी संख्या में महरिया के समर्थक भी मौजूद रहेंगे। वैसे महरिया का बीजेपी में जाना कांग्रेस के लिए बड़ा झटका माना जा रहा है। सूत्रों की माने तो महरिया के बाद कई और नेता भी कांग्रेस का दामन छोड़ने की लाइन में है।

Calcutta HC allows CBI and ED to question Abhishek Banerjee in teacher recruitment scam

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate to question Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee in a case pertaining to alleged irregularities in the recruitment of primary teachers in West Bengal, reported Bar and Bench.

Justice Amrita Sinha of the High Court also allowed the agencies to question another Trinamool Congress leader Kuntal Ghosh, who had alleged that he was being pressured by investigators to make allegations about Banerjee.

In 2019, jobs were allegedly given to candidates in return for money instead of candidates who had qualified in the recruitment process. A dozen officials of the state education department, including former minister Partha Chatterjee, have been arrested in the case.

On April 13, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay of the High Court had directed the two central agencies to question Banerjee in the case. The order was challenged by Banerjee in the Supreme Court who said that the judge had expressed his dislike for him in an interview with ABP Ananda news channel.

On April 17, the Supreme Court had stayed the order. On April 28, it ordered the High Court Chief Justice to reassign the case from Justice Gangopadhyay’s bench to some other bench.

On Thursday, Justice Sinha, also imposed costs of Rs 25 lakh on both Banerjee and Ghosh, reported Bar and Bench….

इंटरनेट डेस्क। राजस्थान कांग्रेस में मची उथल पुथल को रोकने का काम अब एक दिन बाद शुरू हो जाएगा और उसका कारण यह है की कर्नाटक में शनिवार को सीएम पद की शपथ हो जाएगी और उसके बाद आलाकमान का सारा फोकस राजस्थान पर आ जाएगा। ऐसा इसलिए भी है की आने वाले छह महीने में यहां विधानसभा चुनाव भी है।

ऐसे में पार्टी आलाकमान पायलट और गहलोत के बीच जारी जंग को जल्द से जल्द खत्म करना चाहती है ताकी पार्टी को चुनावों में किसी तरह का कोई नुकसान ना हो। पायलट नेतृत्व परिवर्तन की मांग करते हुए बगावती तेवर अपना चुके हैं। कांग्रेस आलाकमान के समझाने के बाद भी पायलट अपनी ही सरकार के खिलाफ सड़कों पर उतर गए है।

पायलट ने सरकार के सामने तीन मांगे रखी है, मांगे नहीं माने जाने पर 15 दिन बाद पायलट प्रदेशभर में आंदोलन करने का ऐलान कर चुके हैं। पायलट के इस ऐलान के बाद पार्टी अब इसका तोड़ ढूंढने में लगी है। जानकारी के अनुसार सचिन पायलट के तेवर के बाद प्रदेश कांग्रेस संगठन के पदाधिकारियों, विधायकों और मंत्रियों से फीडबैक ले रही है।

A new book examines the cryptocurrency upheaval in India and the world – and its perils

In 2017, the strange goings-on in the crypto world had caught the attention of Vijay Pal Dalmia, partner and head of the intellectual property and information technology laws division at Vaish Associates Advocates. The tough-as-nails lawyer based in Delhi had been reading about cryptocurrencies and was increasingly concerned about how they could be abused in the absence of any regulatory oversight.

The trigger came when he first read about the cyberattack on May 13, 2017, by WannaCry ransomware, a malicious ambush that targeted computers using Microsoft Windows across the world. WannaCry did so by either encrypting valuable files, such that users were unable to read them or by locking them out of their computers, so that they couldn’t use them at all. The cybercriminals then demanded payment of a ransom in bitcoin for releasing the data or freeing the computer.

Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, set up by Yevgeny Valentinovich Kaspersky (who has helped identify instances of government sponsored cyberwarfare and has been a leading advocate for an international treaty prohibiting cyberwarfare), wrote that paradoxically, the criminals who mounted the attack took advantage of a flaw in the Windows operating system, using a hack that had been allegedly developed by the United States National Security Agency….
